Haulage Across North Wales, Chester & the North West
From our Deeside yard to the whole of the UK - here's where we work.
Where We Work
Based in Sandycroft on Deeside, we sit at the heart of one of the UK's busiest industrial regions - on the border between North Wales and the North West, minutes from the motorway network. From the manufacturing and distribution hubs of Deeside and Wrexham to the ports, refineries and commercial centres of Cheshire and Merseyside, we run the full range of haulage across every area below and nationwide, from general freight and HIAB work to low loaders and abnormal loads. Trailer hire is also available through our sister brand MLR Trailers. Many customers travel to us, so wherever your job is, just ask.
Choose a Location
From our Deeside base we cover North Wales, Chester and the North West in depth, and run long-distance work right across the UK. Pick a location below to see how we work in your area.
Deeside & Flintshire
Our home patch. Deeside Industrial Park is one of the UK's premier industrial estates - over 600 acres and 5 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space, part of the wider 2,000-hectare Deeside Enterprise Zone, home to major manufacturers across aerospace, automotive, steel, pharmaceuticals and food. We work across the park and the surrounding Flintshire estates every day, moving palletised freight, steel, plant and oversized loads, with the A494 and M56 right on the doorstep.
We also cover the surrounding towns of Mold, Buckley, Connah's Quay, Queensferry, Hawarden, Saltney and Broughton. It is the home base for our general haulage fleet.
Chester
Six miles from our yard and the northern gateway between Wales and the North West. Chester Business Park alone spans 175 acres and employs over 7,500 people across financial services, pharmaceuticals and packaging, with names like Bank of America, MBNA and Bristol-Myers Squibb, while Sealand Industrial Estate and the borough's thirty-plus business parks add manufacturing, distribution and trade. Nearby Cheshire Oaks draws major retail and logistics activity to the area.
We serve Chester daily for general haulage and HIAB work, with fast access via the A55 and A483. HIAB hire is particularly useful here, lifting into the tight, no-craneage business-park sites the area is full of - one example of what we run for Chester, alongside the rest of the fleet. See our HIAB hire.
Wrexham
Wrexham Industrial Estate is the largest in Wales and the second largest in the UK after Trafford Park - 550 hectares, over 340 businesses and 7,000 employees, with more than a fifth of Wrexham's workforce in manufacturing, nearly three times the national average. It is home to global names including JCB, Kellogg's, Cadbury and HOYA, and the Kellogg's plant alone is one of Europe's largest cereal sites. A new 160 million pound Advanced Manufacturing Investment Zone, backed by JCB and Airbus, is set to bring further growth.
We run into Wrexham daily, moving everything from palletised food and packaging to structural steel and construction machinery. The plant and machinery work is a natural fit for our low loader transport, though we cover the full range of haulage across the estate.
Ellesmere Port & the Wirral
Ellesmere Port is a major energy and automotive centre - home to the Stanlow refinery, which supplies around 16% of the UK's road transport fuels, and the Vauxhall plant, now producing electric vans under Stellantis. The Manchester Ship Canal and the M53 link the town to Liverpool and across the Wirral.
We cover the area for container work, plant, general haulage and abnormal loads, with the motorway network putting the whole peninsula within easy reach. The oversized loads its refinery and energy work generates are especially relevant to our abnormal load transport.
Liverpool & Merseyside
Around 45 minutes from our yard, Liverpool is one of the UK's great freight cities. The Port of Liverpool is among the world's leading ports, and its Liverpool2 deep-water terminal, capable of handling the largest container vessels afloat, makes Merseyside a major gateway for containers, automotive, retail and manufacturing cargo moving in and out of the North West. Thousands of jobs across the docks, distribution centres and warehousing stretch from Seaforth to Garston.
We run into Liverpool and across Merseyside for container work, palletised freight, plant and general haulage, with the M53 and M56 linking the city directly to our base. Container and port-related moves are a natural fit for the fleet, and we cover the full range of haulage across the area.
Cheshire & the North West
Across the border, Cheshire and Warrington form one of the UK's busiest distribution corridors, with over 25,000 people working in logistics across the two areas. Crewe is a major manufacturing and rail hub, home to Bentley Motors, while Winsford Industrial Estate - the UK's first green business park - and Warrington's distribution parks keep freight moving day and night, with names like Boots and Morrisons running major operations here.
The M56, M53 and M6 put the whole North West within a straight run, and we reach south to the Shropshire border towns of Oswestry and Whitchurch. No single service dominates this distribution corridor, so it draws on the full range of our haulage services.
Manchester & Greater Manchester
About an hour from our base, Manchester is the largest city-region outside London and one of the country's biggest logistics markets. At its heart is Trafford Park, the world's first purpose-built industrial estate and one of Europe's largest, spanning nearly five square miles with 1,400 companies employing 40,000 people, from Amazon and Unilever to Kellogg's and DHL. More than 1,200 haulage vehicles move through the park every day, and the new Port Salford tri-modal inland port is adding millions more square feet of logistics space alongside it.
The M56 links us straight into the M60 orbital and the Greater Manchester motorway network, so we run into Trafford Park and across the conurbation for palletised freight, container work, plant and general haulage. It is high-volume distribution country, and we cover the full range across it.
North Wales Coast
West along the A55, the main artery through North Wales to the Port of Holyhead and the Irish ferries, the economy shifts from industrial estates to agriculture, tourism and energy. This is farming country, with over 13,000 people working in agriculture across North Wales, alongside the coastal resort towns of Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Prestatyn and the growing St Asaph Business Park on the A55.
We handle the work that comes with it: agricultural machinery and feed, construction materials and plant for coastal and tourism developments, and abnormal loads heading west toward Holyhead or the Anglesey energy sites. Those larger coast-road moves are where our own abnormal load escorts come in, one part of the full service we run along the coast.
Nationwide
Beyond our core region, we run long-distance work right across the UK. From our Deeside base the motorway network puts the whole country within reach, south to the Midlands, east to Yorkshire, north into Scotland, and across to Northern Ireland via the Holyhead and Liverpool ferries.
Our fleet is STGO-rated with full permit management, so the long, heavy and oversized loads that cannot move on a standard trailer reach their destination legally and on schedule wherever they need to go. Many customers are based well outside North Wales and come to us for exactly this. The heaviest and widest moves go on our abnormal load transport.
