A hiab stepframe trailer has a stepped deck that sits lower than a standard flatbed, which does two things. It gives extra height clearance for taller loads, and it provides a stable, lower platform suited to loading by a Hiab crane. The 9 metre loading deck is the working area where the crane places the load. What You Need to Hire a Trailer
Hiring a trailer is straightforward, but there are a few things you will need in place first.
Operator's Licence
A valid goods vehicle operator's licence covering the trailer. If the combined weight of your vehicle and the loaded trailer is over 3.5 tonnes, this is a legal requirement.
Your Own Insurance
Your own insurance covering the hired trailer. We will ask for a copy of your insurance certificate before the hire begins.
A Suitable Towing Vehicle
A vehicle suitable and rated to tow the trailer. The trailer's laden weight must be within your vehicle's towing and plating limits.
Planned Maintenance
Planned maintenance inspections can be handled by us or by you, whichever you prefer. Just let us know when you book.
