A curtainsider, also called a tautliner, is an enclosed trailer with a solid roof and retractable curtain sides. The curtains pull back along the full length for fast loading and unloading from either side, then close to protect the load from the weather. It is the standard trailer for palletised freight and mixed commercial loads where you want quick access and protection in one.

Our curtainsiders are 3-axle, 13.6 metre trailers with retractable curtain sides and various internal clearance heights. The curtains open along the full length for forklift loading from either side, and close to keep the load protected from the weather. At 13.6 metres a full-length curtainsider holds 26 standard pallets. All are 2.5 metres wide. Tell us your load and dimensions and we will confirm the right trailer.

What You Need to Hire a Trailer
Hiring a trailer is straightforward, but there are a few things you will need in place first.
Operator's Licence
A valid goods vehicle operator's licence covering the trailer. If the combined weight of your vehicle and the loaded trailer is over 3.5 tonnes, this is a legal requirement.
Your Own Insurance
Your own insurance covering the hired trailer. We will ask for a copy of your insurance certificate before the hire begins.
A Suitable Towing Vehicle
A vehicle suitable and rated to tow the trailer. The trailer's laden weight must be within your vehicle's towing and plating limits.
Planned Maintenance
Planned maintenance inspections can be handled by us or by you, whichever you prefer. Just let us know when you book.
